Scientology is a religion that offers a path to full self realization and spiritual awareness and ability. The word Scientology means “the study of knowledge” or literally “knowing how to know”. The new Church of Scientology opened in Ascot Vale on 29 January 2011. Since opening its doors to its much larger building, the increased space and modern facilities have enabled many more community services to be provided.
The Church of Scientology has for many decades conducted drug education campaigns. Scientologists are drug-free and as such understand the vital importance of full education, in empowering youth to make fully informed choices to stay away from drugs.
More than 300 Scientology Volunteer Ministers travelled to Tohoku (North Japan), which was hit by massive tsunamis caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake to provide care and assistance to officials and survivors. The disaster left many cities of Tohoku devastated and more than 400,000 people were left homeless.
